Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust

Brick by brick, nail by nail, now down to grains of sand
Rigid roots ripped from soil, no seed & flower path

Laugh lines & pearled tears,
hearts beating as one
Unwrapping & uncovering joy
Bed bugs don’t dare bite.
Sizzling through a timber shield, not even a yolk remains

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust

Dreams wake & rest, clear calls through the air, swooping from bark to bloom, gliding above & through & below.
Naked freedom, full-filled, birth & death
Amongst what was built for us

There he slept & remained
There she loved & maintained

Home is where the heart is, the memories prevail
& unto dust shalt thou return

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust

  1. Straight from the heart is always best. Your sentiments echo mine, ours. Anyone in the fertile environment of this wonderful place can extract from your poetry the essence of what home is.
    Thank you!
